First post of 2011! Shocker innit? =D

Hello hello.

It's been sooooooo long since I last updated this humble and boring blog. =D Sorry for being M.I.A. guys. Been so dang busy. Some may be curious as to what I've been up to. Well, let's make it easy and put it in a chronological order.

July 2010- July 2011 = Completed my LLB (Legum Baccalaureus). My Bachelor Degree in Law.
July 2011- Sept. 2011 = Worked as a research assistant at the Centre of Excellence for Research in Aids & HIV.
Oct. 2011- Nov. 2011 = Chambering pupil at Huei & Co. , a legal firm, doing corporate, trademark & intellectual property.

So yeah, that's as far as my professional 'career' goes. Here's a shot for you guys to enjoy.

In my life I've had people asking me all sorts of questions.

Why this? What's that? How so? Are you sure?

I faced these questions with a brave heart and the utmost sincerest approach.

I hold my answers to my own. Often more than not, the questions are about my personal life.

The questions and how I tackled them.

1. Do you want to be a lawyer?
Do you see myself as a lawyer? yeah, perhaps. But I want to be so much more than that.

2. Where did you learn to catwalk?
Practice, practice and practice and watching runway shows. Ref- Jessica Stam, Sasha Pivovarova & Miss J from ANTM.

3. Who's your influence style wise?

I actually don't have a reference for this. I swear by layers. I believe in revamping and reinventing. If I didn't wear the hijab, I'd prolly be her--> Kenza. But since I do now, and I'm proud of it, I'm manipulating my clothes and covering my aurat nevertheless. As long as there's the colour black somewhere in my outfit, with big rings, a cool/ signature watch and a pair of distinct looking shoes.

4. Why do you love your bf so much?

I could give you 1001 reasons to this question. He keeps me secure. He assures me. He's funny and gedik. He's full of surprises. He's my pillar of strength. Bottom line, he makes me happy. We're like Bonnie & Clyde like that yo ;D

5. How did you guys meet? And who initiated the relationship?

At the Cinta Sayang Club House during some event held there. 'Twas him. With his drink, half a curry puff and the moon lit night.

6. Why do you love Malacca so much?

Because of the history, the soul it has, the people, the atmosphere, the buildings.

7. Why do you like to focus on your eyes when you do your make up?

I believe it's my best feature. It's apparent that I have a dominant chin. Fact accepted. And working it! But I do have a pretty ohkay-looking set of eyes. So, why not? (and usually I'll follow this up with a big grin =D)

8. How do you wear your shawl currently? (As I keep changing the ways to do so)

Step 1- Ensure the right side of your shawl is slightly longer.

Step 2- Pin it as usual like one does when wearing a hijab, under your chin.

Step 3- Take the right side of your shawl, bring it to the front and over your head, come to the right side of your face and put like a small pin/needle there to set the shawl right.

Set 4- You're done! It's so easy. The excessive part of the shawl, supposingly on your right side, is kept loose for the laidback-chill babe effect. Ehe.

9. Where are you from?

That's a difficult question for me. I was born in Penang, lived in California, kampung kat Perak, lived in Sg. Petani, Kedah and now living in Shah Alam. So technically, I don't really know where I'm from but I'll usually say something like "I'm universal. I'm from all over." ;)

10. Who's your bestfriend?

I have many many close friends, from every walks of life. Those artsy people, those from the law faculty, those from sports events, those from the shows, those from my school, those from Theodore Judah Elementary, those from Kedah and those I accidentally became good friends with from god-knows-where but nonetheless, as valuable as the next. But the ones that I hold close to my heart are only a handful. Not many people around me now know this, but Aafina Zamil is my best friend. She's hot, she's so pretty, and she's got great brain power! and (hopefully) soon she's gonna be in your newspaper! (makbulkan doa hamba-Mu ini Ya Allah. Amin) Fifi, I love you so much. I climb and I fall, I cry then I'm happy, I got into trouble then I got you into trouble, I achieved and I faltered, I groped blindly and you were my guiding light, especially during our self-discovery years, you have always been by my side.

In half a heartbeat, I'm the same to you, ever so eager to lend a shoulder, to lend TWO helping hands, and all the brains I can muster and maybe even my lawyering services one day. No, not maybe. I AM YOUR LAWYER TO GO TO! We have grown this far, and I'd love it for us to grow more with each other permanently active in each other's lives. I got your back bitch. And I know you got mine. xoxo.

OMG. It's been such a long time since I wrote an entry.
So many things have happened.

Chubby got 8A(-/+)'s and 2B+'s. Must say I am proud of her eventhough it's not really what she aimed for. Next step for her- Dentistry. Be it locally or overseas.
Congratulations class of SPM '09!

As for myself, I am now working at a law firm- S. M. Nasir Hussaini & Co.
I'm coming into the first week & all's good!
The lawyers are both UITM graduates, which is always a plus.
Since we were practically taught by the same lecturers, it'll always be the ice-breaker:)
Senang lah my keje. No need to over-impress. Heh.
Anywho, I'm lacking a bit of creative flow lately. Will be searching for new objects.
I'm starting to think of transforming this blog into a picture driven blog.. and less words.
May be once in awhile.. Maybe not.

I had a heart-ATTACK. Pls pray for me.

Yeah. You read right.
Two very unforgettable incidents happened to me today.
What seemed like an average day, aside from the fact that I was driving back to my family in Shah Alam from Kedah, everything started out to be pretty normal and as predicted.
We (my younger sister & I) were late, as usual, to 'bertolak' for our journey.
11am, they say. Huh. You betcha. 12pm is more like it!
Had brunch and headed for the highway.

1st incident- 1213 at the Sg. Petani Tol Plaza.

'KAD TIDAK SAH' on the screen.
My initial reaction was, "WTF? I JUST RELOADED THIS THINGY!" while blowing Chubby's head off with the sheer tone of my booming voice, not that it was her fault but anyways..
Pressed the help button on the scanning machine thingamajigger, and literally demanded help from the teeny man voice from inside the box.
A lady came to the rescue and handed me the 'new and improved-lah sangat' PLUS card.
Fine. I'll pay cash.

Reached the Sungai Dua Tol. Thank god for the Touch 'n Go Service Center.
Went in. Filled a complaint form. Gave a 'Mr. Azhar' the RM50 reload receipt as proof, and so on and so forth.
Finally, he said 'Okay! Siap! Ada Rm50 ya dlm kad ni' with a cynical smile.
Happy that my old card was replaced(with no expense!) with a bright coloured patterned one, I grinned right back at him.
On with the road.
Little did I know, after arriving to the next tol plaza, the screen showed a balance of Rm100!
Stared in disbelief and super-blankly at it.
Could it possibly be the luckiest day of my life?
Well, at least I thought it was until..

2nd incident- 3 and a half hours later, in between Rawang and the Guthrie Highway.

Driving happily as I've made good time on my luckiest road trip yet.
A lengthy lorry ahead on the left side.
Out of no where, a JUMBO WHEEL was bouncing and rolling into the second lane towards me and my car.
Imagine that. It was surely a scene cropped out from an action movie.
Gelabah biawak tak ingat dunia dah lah. Must avoid rolling Gigantire!
I slowed down and tried to steer to the right. The car behind me slowed down too and attempted to do the same.
And some idiot driver who wasn't aware of the danger tried to cut in front of me.
Somehow, the tire rolled back to the left side of the road. As if it had a mind of it's own- to get out of the way of those killer drivers!
Jumbo wheel slowed down and tagged behind the lorry who lost it in the first place.
Fikir balik masa tu, mcm lawak. Lori hilang tayar and was bouncing all over the highway.
Then, my biggest fear occurred, the tire exploded and rubber flew everywhere! Including across my pathway!
My heart was a racing I tell ya!!
Chubby ducked for cover.
As swift as I could, I maneuvered my car towards the speeding lane to get out of harm's way.

The story of my life.

So I didn't really suffer from a heart attack.

But I sure thought I could have.
Thank you Allah for keeping my sister and I safe throughout the journey.
Amin.
Guys out there, be aware of all those trucks, buses, you name it.
As long as as it's huge, just get away as fast as u can.

Hi y'all.
I am finally done with my degree! Insyaallah.
Yeah!! It's as hard as I imagined it to be.
Nevertheless, it ended well.
After years of hard work, tests, assignments, final exams, tears, cat fights (ada kah?) and err.. more assignments and final exams, I can finally be who I want to be.
I have found my own true self.
That I am sure.
And on top of that, because I finished my law degree, my beloved daddy decided to surprise me.

Anywhoo, I just got back from Langkawi.
Stayed at Pelangi Beach Resort along Pantai Cenang.
Somehow I felt that my family and I were the foreigners there.
We were stuck amidst the sea of Europeans, Arabs, Americans, Scandinavians and et cetera.
Yep. Feels right at home. Haha.

Well. Today was a fun day with Deera and Aneeza. Went to Tongue in Chic's fashion bazaar at Zouk, KL around 2.30pm. Found many interesting stuff, but to no avail, nothing impacting was purchased. Thought of getting a dress but, nah- wasn't my priority. The Singaporeans from AVANTGOD managed to capture a candid pic of me with their lomo. That was embarassing. I hope the pic doesn't get published in some random fashion blog or newspaper. haha. Can't imagine my face looking all blur, and soNOTprepared into the camera. Next time, kira dulu la, satu, dua, tiga.. itu macam maa.

I bought a lip balm from Mimpi Murni. It's perfect with peach mango essence and all! There was french vanilla too. Aneeza got that one. Not a fan of vanilla. heh. But what amazes me most is that these lip balms, the owner made it herself. HOW COOL IS THAT? And she told us that she was in the midst of creating her own skin care products. The girl got guts. Salut to her.

Anywhooo, we went to KLCC after that. It was a weird day to be honest. First, I bumped into my junior in high school. Uhh. It was awkward. Changed too much. Then, we met this Arab dude who is oh-so-AKAK. Fatah a.k.a. Tony- what he said. hehe. Made petty conversations. Next. We went to the usual stores, Topshop, Marks and Spencer, Mango, Harrods, Swatch & etc. The most exciting but stoopeed part was when we were waiting for Deera to try on this gorg dress in Zara. While Deera was happily changing her clothes, Aneeza & I were in another cubicle, sitting on the stumpy stool. I noticed there was this small Isetan package on the floor and I picked it up. I saw a set of nail buffer in it and showed it to Aneeza. Being the curious cat I was, I asked Aneeza, 'what the hell do you use that for?'. It was something huge that a nail buffer won't usually look like. So it's only natural that she took it out and showed me what it was used for. Tibe2, sdg kuku ku dikilat, tuannye kembali utk mengambil barang yg ditinggalnya yg sdg diguna utk mencantikkan kuku ku. But I guess she didn't notice. She just took the small paper bag off the floor and went. It took me a sec to figure out that that thingy was hers! haha. Of course lah cuak. In a heart beat I was in Deera's dressing room, leaving the evidence in that cubicle. As expected, she came back!! and saw Aneeza walking in Deera's changing room! She sukehatimakbapakdie shoved the curtain aside and asked us whether we saw the thing inside the bag.. while Deera was still undressed! Gile lah. We buat innocent jer. haha. Ohkay, I should not write about this. The popos could apprehend me=D But it's not like she bought that thing. It was a free gift from Isetan. So, at least I could make myself feel better. I don't know whr the thg is now. I think we just left it there and the aunty recovered it from the floor. Ayo, die! heh. My first not-technically-petty crime. But an actus reus with no mens rea is in fact a crime kan? Whtevs.

And then there was this other Arab dude, who wanted to help us find our parking spot (somehow none of us could remember what floor we parked on. Talk about intelligence!heh) All these foreigners. They seem friendlier than our Malaysians. Why is that? Sedangkan Malaysia is our country. But we're too selfish to help each other out. Just a thought for you guys to ponder upon.

It was a very international day for us. The 2 chics complained bcs of their sore soles in high heels, nasib baik I wore my Pocahontas shoes<3>

Another incident.
We were talking abt doughnuts.
Aiman was saying sumthg abt Krispy Kreme.

Aiman: Hv u tried Krispy Kreme's? My friend kate it's rly good.
They are so much better than Jco's & Big Apple's.
(You must understand, Aiman has this really cool i think Americano accent & when he speaks mcm laju & expressive. If u x dpt tgkp you'll become like this)

Me: They are..(merely repeating what Aiman said clearly)

Hey hey.

I'm in Kedah. Been here for two weeks! Happy happy! But it's ending too soon=(( like this Saturday. I'm gonna miss him. A lot a lot! and the good good food. Nothing like KL's or Shah Alam's. AND it's only a friction of the price of food in SA!! Watched Transformers and Drag Me to Hell yesterday at Sunway Carnival. Movie marathon lah konon. Megan Fox-Hot! Shia Lebouf-Hot hot! Bumblebee-Cute as ever! The twins-Supercoolwannaben*ggerswithgrills! Great movie. But kesian my Abang Hitam. He was really sick yesterday, yet he still persevered through the 2 movies. Just for me! I so owe him. Demam demam pun sanggup.

Btw, I'm gonna get my own Artscarf business card soon! Yay!=D
Class is gonna start on Monday.

OMG!! I've been so so busy dengan Art Scarf that I feel like I've neglected my ultimate blog! I must apologize as it was the launching of my designs (which btw, got super duper overwhelming response from the girls sampaikn dah habis sume n kene restock lagik!=DD) There are sooo many things to share. So many pics to be uploaded. I just don't have enough hands, time and brain cells to handle everything. And ni baru sikit! So bayangkan lah! I suck. I suck at managing things once it's all thrown at me all at once. Haish. Lembab.

Nevertheless, I'm trying my very best. I got to hand it to you, I never thought that I'd be able to do business, especially one that's involving shawls(?) hehe. Tak sangke I nak pakai tudung pun sbenarnye. Alhamdulillah, syukur kepada Ilahi kerana memberi hidayah to do so and sekaligus, bring advantage to me thru this business. I have a vision for Art Scarf, I pray it comes true. I texted Yuna(lis) just now. I managed to get her to agree to wear 1 of my designs. Kire I'm giving her one for free lah since my shawls very well suit her sense of style. hehe. Thank you Alis! I hope the shawl is able to speak for itself. I wonder which one she'll choose. I dream that Art Scarf will become a trend amongst youngsters. Dreams will never fail you, so I'll just keep on dreaming.

And I gotta thank my supermodel friend TYA(!!) for modelling all my shawls, and putting up with the bucket-loads of make up and sweat, sbb dah bertudung sepanjang mase kan.. hehe. Thanks so much babe. For ur wall as my backdrop, ur clothes that we mixnmatch with mine, and for your utter coolness in giving different moods for each one of my shawls. Got much hype about how pretty u are & etc. Biase lah kan. Tya mmg best!=D In the future, when Art Scarf dah start raking in the big bucks (hopefully, Amin) I gotta start paying her for her professionalism, because she helped me at the starting of it all. hehe. Oh how I appreciate the people around me.

Thanks to Deera too for being my little petite helper- lipat the selendang and all and declaring that my shawls are 'CANTIKKK !' and sgt 'FRAGILEEE!' walaupun x fragile mane pun cume perlu dijaga elok2. hehe. Thanks Deera.

And to my parents who put up with me and my difficulties in finding a great tailor, for supporting me and telling me that I CAN be big with Art Scarf. Thank you!! Thanks for the moolah that you provided Ma that was used as my primary modal. And to my Daddy, yang semangat2 promote kat his friends and giving more and more ideas for the brand. I'm thinking of stickers daddy.. Forward we shall charge! huhu.

By the way that I'm writing this, you can prolly imagine how passionate and determined I am to make this business succesful. But all this would never happen if the one person that influence me in everything that I do, did not push the idea and was persistent through out the whole time of me dwelling on this matter- you know who it is. Azzad Azmy. The one and only. Thanks for being my number 1 fan. I can rule the world with you by my side.

And oh! to the Uncle from India who will now become my permanent tailor, thank you so much! He can rock the sewing machine like no one else can. He managed to finish sewing ALL my shawls in less than 4 hours! He is Superman to me. hehe. I got to ask him his name lah. Haish..

Went to watch Hannah Montana. Comel laa. Budak kecik pny crite. But Miley Cirus as usual was super hot. She's lucky to have a pair of pretty legs. The downside of the movie though, I expected it to be much more funnier. Nevertheless, it was a good family movie. I found a tailor who reached my expectations.
After 3 cities. After 20+ tailors. After 3/4 of my car's petrol tank. After 4 straight days. After immeasurable energy wasted.. finally. Just finally.

It is so difficult to find a good tailor who knows how to work a sewing machine the way I want her to.
I'm going through great lengths to get this Art Scarf project going especially in pursuing, maintaining and ensuring that the shawls are of high-quality.
I feel like giving up at times. But the passion I have to get this thing going keeps me strutting.
Still, it is taking a toll on me.
It's costing way more than what I expected.
Well, I just hope it is all worth it!
and to tell you the truth, this tailor is in Salak Tinggi, Sepang.
( jauh lagi tak nak?)
Ingatkan jauh2 murah lah, tapi same mahal jer.
It's just that this tailor is sewing these exclusive shawls with the rich fabric and all with extra caution.
And she said the stitch that I asked for is tedious work.
I only want the best for my future customers.
Their satisfaction is my fuel.
Biase lah.
I guess this is the predicament that I have to face as everything is made from scratch and is tailor made, not from those common shawl suppliers.
Anyways, I'm keeping my head up.

Super tired today.
Mommykins and I went in search of abstract and patterned prints.. to be made into one of a kind shawls! I can assure u that it's all super cool and tailor-made to suit those who dare to stand out.
and if u know me, I like good quality things.
So no worries there;)
At the moment, I'm thinking of a name for my blogshop.
Quite keen on 'Artscarf'. Perhaps. That will be determined later on people.
